What is genital prolapse?
Genital prolapse is a concept that combines several static disorders of the female reproductive organs. The reason is the failure of the support apparatus of the uterus and the pelvic floor. The term includes several anatomical changes in the genitals: drop in front and / or rear vaginal wall, drop the uterus, urethra and drop in the Douglas area.
What is the etiology of genital prolapse?
Numerous factors related to the change in the normal position of the female genitalia. Individual constitutional features are crucial – the strength of the connective tissue and the type wheel, which build it. Genital prolapse is often combined with other diseases such as hernias, varicose veins, flat feet, haltavost joints.
Vaginal birth is essential, therefore subjecting the structures of the pelvic floor load – tissues overextended and torn. Age changes occurring during menopause (tissue atrophy), significantly weaken the support apparatus of the uterus and vagina.
States that maintain high intra-abdominal pressure cause genital prolapse. These are chronic cough, constipation, heavy physical labor, obesity.
What types of genital prolapse is and what are the symptoms?
Depending on the affected anatomical structure genital prolapse is divided into several types:
Uretrotsele – a drop in the urethra and bladder neck and herniated them in the vagina due to the weakening of links that support them.
Tsistotsele – herniated bladder (rear wall) in the vagina. The condition can be combined with uretrotsele. Terminology is referred to as tsistouretrotsele.
